Important Note:
Do not handle an injured animal as some wildlife can be very dangerous,
call one of the numbers below GET ADVICE FIRST.
If the animal is still on the road park your car near the animal and warn other road
users in the same way as you would in a breakdown.
DO NOT STOP ON MOTORWAYS make a note of the place (marker posts every 100yds)
and CALL US and let us know your direction of travel and roughly how far past you have
travelled or the nearest turn off (eg; 2 miles back from J24 on the M4 east bound) if
you have GPS in you car this can also give an exact location which we can follow even
a postcode will do.
If you can stay with the animal and if possible throw a blanket over the animal to keep
it warm and if the head is covered this can reduce stress giving it a better chance of
survival, the same applies if there is an injured animal in your garden or close to home,
a dustbin or strong box can be used to cover an animal
If you cannot stay with the animal please leave a marker (eg; tie a plastic bag to the
hedgerow) and let the operator know where and what the marker is this will make
finding the animal faster.
If the animal makes a run for cover do not chase it it will just run further away make a
note of where it went and we should be able to catch up with it pretty quicky.
The information on this page can be applied to any wildlife casualty, so if you have an
injured Badger, Fox, Deer or Hedgehog or any other wildlife CALL US.
If you have called other animal organisations let us know as they may be on their way
Please remember this is only a guide and you must put your own safety first.
